The concept of psychological safety being compromised by one individual indicates a fragile foundation—a “psychological house of cards.” In our view, true psychological safety is robust, and resilient withstanding any unfair challenges from any team member.

SpatzAI’s Intervention Procedure

SpatzAI offers a structured, and effective approach to address problematic behavior and ensure genuine psychological safety within teams. Here’s how it works:
Team members onboard by agreeing to the Spatz team charter, which includes the SpatzAI procedure consisting of:

0. The Spatz Verbal Caution:

  • If a team member exhibits behavior that seems to to be objectionable, the target’s first step is to pause the conversation and issue a verbal caution. This addresses the behavior immediately and respectfully.

1. The Spatz Official Caution via SpatzAI App:

  • If the offending team member ignores or challenges the caution the next step is to document the spat through the SpatzAI purpose-built app. This formal caution highlights the specific behavior that needs addressing and requests acknowledgment from the offending team member.

2. The Spatz Official Objection:

  • Should the micro-dispute remain unresolved, an official objection is logged. This requires a simple apology from the offending party, promoting accountability and respect within the team.

3. The Spatz Official Stop and Peer Review:

  • If the micro-conflict continue, a “Stop” is issued, and it is posted on the SpatzAI team-assisted review platform. The team reviews the micro-conflict, and a resolution is sought through collective input and AI-assisted recommendations. This stage may require an acceptable heartfelt apology to resolve the issue.

By following this agreed structured approach, SpatzAI ensures that all team members and managers are held accountable and that minor issues are addressed before they can escalate uncontrolled. This method not only resolves micro-conflicts but also strengthens the foundation of psychological safety within the team.
