SpatzAI only does one thing for workplace teams.
But it’s design focus is to do that one thing extremely well.
It will give every participating team member an agreed process for saying, “I have an issue with how you just behaved,” and getting that issue either resolved or escalate.
That’s it.
It won’t try to replace HR.
It won’t be for reporting incidents.
It won’t be for mediation.
It won’t be an employee engagement survey, a whistleblowing hotline or another workplace culture platform.
It operates much earlier than all of those.
Someone talks down to a colleague. Interrupts repeatedly. Dismisses an idea unfairly. Uses a raised tone or volume. Makes a personal remark. Rolls their eyes. Whatever it is that a team member considers the behaviour objectionable.
Normally, this is where things become messy, uncertainty reigns and one has to ask oneself the following:
“Is it really that bad or do I…
…ignore it?
…confront them and risk making matters worse?
…complain or vent to someone else?
…go behind their back and tell the manager?
or
…start documenting everything in case it happens again?”
SpatzAI introduces another option:
Address it directly, early and proportionately.
Probably the most important word here I am going to use today is agreed.
Before a problem occurs, the team has already agreed to, and is onboarded with, the Spatz Team Charter.
Every member then has the right to object — beginning with a mild verbal caution — to behaviour they consider objectionable, using the SpatzAI procedure.
And that is it.
There is no obligation for the receiver to take any action when they receive a Spatz.
They can acknowledge it, ignore it, disagree with it, challenge it or respond however they choose.
SpatzAI does not compel compliance.
It simply gives the person objecting and the receiver an agreed process for raising the issue and, if necessary, escalating it proportionately.
The objection may prove justified, or it may prove mistaken.
Either way, the process provides a way to examine it, resolve it or escalate it without immediately turning a small behavioural issue into a large organisational problem.
So perhaps the simplest description of SpatzAI is this:
SpatzAI gives workplace teams a standard way to address and resolve behavioural issues that they consider objectionable, directly, early and proportionately.
One problem.
One process.
Resolved or escalate.
And then get back to work.
The point is not to eliminate disagreement or force people to behave in a particular way.
It is to stop minor behavioural problems from being ignored, personalised or unnecessarily escalated.
By giving everyone the same agreed process, team members can course-correct each other earlier, resolve more issues themselves, encourage better collaboration, and reduce the chance that small problems become formal grievances or larger workplace conflicts, later.
