Resolved or Escalate. Repeat

Resolved or Escalate. Repeat

Most workplace conflict processes become complicated very quickly.

Here is an example of the old, branching maze of complicated procedures:

Make sure the issue is repeated enough times before complaining.
Then:
If this happens, wait 90 seconds, stay calm. Be respectful.
If that fails, document privately.
If they respond this way, then complain anonymously to HR.
If they respond another way, involve your manager secretly. Etc. Etc.

No wonder there are so many unresolved conflicts causing toxic workplaces. Nothing being necessarily agreed to, and no one is really sure exactly what to do in every event.

The SpatzChat™ takes a much simpler approach.

We believe workplace conflict is best addressed at the micro-conflict stage, directly, in real-time, before minor behavioural issues compound and escalate.

At every stage, there are only two options that the team has agreed to use:

Resolved or Escalate. Repeat.

0. A verbal caution can be acknowledged and resolved, or escalate to a formal caution.
“I’ll Spatz you later”

1. A formal caution (SpatzChat™) can be acknowledged to be resolved, or escalate to a formal objection.

2. A formal objection (SpatzChat™) using a simple apology to be resolved, or escalate to a formal stop and review.

3. A formal stop (SpatzChat™) and (Team + AI Review), an acceptable apology to be resolved, or escalate to HR.

The level of formality changes. The choice does not.

Resolved or Escalate. Repeat.

Sue and Jim may still disagree completely about the idea being discussed. Resolution does not require agreement.

It only requires them to address and resolve the behaviour affecting fair collaboration.

No branching maze of complicated procedures, just a simple rule applies:

Resolved or Escalate. Repeat.

No improvised process. No waiting until minor issues compound to become a serious reportable HR incident.

Just two options at the bottom of every stage, when using the SpatzChat™ app:

Resolved or Escalate. Repeat.
