Are You Accountable For your behavior?

Not everyone in teams and organizations know how to be accountable for their behavior.
Here are 3 levels of behavior accountability that we use at SpatzAI HQ

1. Acknowledge:
Only some people can say sorry for their mistake.
“My mistake, I didn’t understand.”

2. Simple Apology:
Only a rare few can apologize for their misbehavior when they make a mistake.
“I am sorry for my tone and volume, my behavior was unacceptable.”

3. Acceptable Apology:
And even rarer still can someone give the sincerest of apologies, one with the lot.
“I am really sorry for my misbehavior. I lost my cool when I felt you were rocking the boat. Next time I will try use Spatz when I feel you have gone overboard, instead of getting angry and abusing you.

I am still not sure why this is so. I guess it is a mix of pride and what role models we had as parents.
We just were not exposed to these 3 levels of accountable behavior traits and therefore do not have the psychological tools to act accountably for our mistakes and misbehivor.

Is it any wonder we still have so many, spats, disputes and conflicts in the workplace?
