Is the Singularity (AGI) Coming?

Ms Agi

I’m skeptical, to say the least!

If we don’t design and implement a global standardized intervention to monitor and address our polarized and often uncivil disagreements, the arrival of the AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) is unlikely in the near future, in my opinion. In fact, it might exacerbate our polarization, as an AGI may likely adopt similar dogmatic behaviors that we humans exhibit during conflicts and disputes. An absolute thinking AGI would pose an even greater danger.

According to Ray Kurzweil, a futurist and inventor, the AGI or singularity is projected to arrive in 2045. However, I have a slightly different perspective and believe she will happen in 2044 (which coincidentally adds up to ONE numerically). Admittedly, I am somewhat superstitious. Furthermore, I believe the AGI will only emerge when we are adequately prepared to handle her. Therefore, we must start by moderating, mitigating, and monitoring our own behavior, ensuring that we can collectively apply these practices to the AGI as well.

For an AGI to become a reality, I believe all wars and conflicts must cease, and we must learn to keep each other’s behavior in check, including the AGI herself. Yes, we need to become our brother’s and sister’s and the AGI’s keeper.

The democratic intervention I propose for teams and AGI monitoring is called SpatzAI. I predict and hope that by 2044, the SpatzAI will have undergone extensive training on the vast amount of resolved spats, disputes, and conflicts that we experience daily through the SpatzAI app and platform. This data will be invaluable in enabling us and SpatzAI to closely monitor the AGI and actively moderate her behavior on a daily basis, ensuring she remains well-behaved.
